We used smart card with LDR using optoelectronic for security purpose and the alert will be displayed by LED and buzzer alarm. The system uses smart card technology to identify the authorized personnel, possessing a valid card with him/her, to acess any secure area or device. This project is designed to gain access to an area or control a device by using a valid smart card only.

They provide flexibility, security, portability and increasing storage capacity compared to magnetic stripe cards.Smart cards also provide vital components of system security for the exchange of data throughout virtually any type of network. They protect against a full range of security threats, from careless storage of user passwords to sophisticated system hacks. Multifunction cards can also serve as network system access and store value and other data.A building security management system based on single board computer is currently under development. In this paper, a part of the system which is an automatic door access system using contactless smart card for identification is discussed. Running test shows that the system is working as expected.
